RE: Norcold refrigerator coils frosting up

If you turn the frig off for 4-5 hrs, the buildup will melt and drain off...It will still be cold enough to keep food cold until you turn it back on...

Tripping GFI receptacles

I cannot plug the coach power cord into any GFI receptacle without tripping it.....I have turned the main breaker and all other breakers off inside the coach to try to diagnose the bad circuit, but the GFI even trips with the main breaker and the others off......
I suspect this problem has existed since the coach was new, but you so seldom see GFI's that I only recently discovered the problem...Suggestions?

RE: Mike Thompsons RV

If you are getting little sympathy, it's probably because a search on this board would have helped you prepare for your purchase....and you probably would have ended up buying the same coach for less money
Really can't blame the dealer....It's their job to get as much as they can...They cannot survive selling everything at small margins and occasionally people walk in and pay close to full asking price and that helps the average profit margin.
Chalk it up to experience and next time you buy you will probably upgrade to a much more expensive unit and your newfound knowledge of the process may save you two or three times the $8000 you could have saved on the Pace.

RE: Thor Hurricane 30Q

I was so impressed with the factory support on my first Thor Four Winds Coach (Infinity) that when I upgraded to a DP, I purchased a Thor Product....Just as impressed this time.....Lots of bang for the buck and great factory techs that will help with problems.

RE: tire covers...black or white?

From someone with 30 years in the rubber business.....Rubber products should be stored in a cool dry place away from sunlight...
White, not Black

RE: I'm eatin' crow!

Don't be fooled by a recommended speed for best mileage....Today's Allison is so smooth some people don't realize that at 55 mph they have not yet shifted into 6th gear.....and at 60-62 in overdrive you will get better mileage than at 55-57 in 5th gear...

RE: Four Winds Class A

Four Winds builds a good coach and stands behind it better than most factories....none of the brands are goof proof out of the factory, no matter what you pay.

RE: MPG - better in Hills than on flat?

Are you sure that on the flat land you are driving fast enough to get the transmission to shift to overdrive? 60MPH may not do it.... big difference in mileage from 5th gear to 6th gear...

RE: Safety Plus Steering System

Safe T Plus works as advertised....if you are at all mechanically inclined you can easily install yourself. I have done so twice in under an hour......They occasionally go on sale at Camping World or you can find vendors on internet..

RE: How to avoid 95 south of DC.

Here is solution...Dont follow 83 to York...In Harrisburg go 1 more exit west to Rt 15.....take that south to 29 to 17....puts you back on 95 way south of DC....Nice ride...have done it often....the extra 15 minutes this route takes could save you an hour sitting in traffic/construction.

If you are not parked perfectly level or if tank is not level, you may have to play around with levelers to drain more water...

RE: Would you do the 15000 mile service at 10,000 miles?

The Cummins manual says " fuel and coolant filter change at 15,000 miles...
This can not be correct because your engine does not have a coolant filter. Cummins dropped the coolant filter in 2005 ISL engines.
Coolant filter is installed at the option of the coach manufacturer....I believe some Cummins engines after 2005 do have them depending on the make of the coach....although Cummins reps told me that Cummins is comfortable without them due to improved coolants.
